What brings you here?

This form is for companies buying data work. Individuals can join our talent pool Join the pool. We are not onboarding vendor companies at the moment; you can leave your details via Contact.

Who you are

Optional, so we know who we are replying to.

What you need

Optional. Skip it if you would rather we scoped it with you.
In your own words. We map it to the right people ourselves.
Roughly is fine.
Optional. It helps us scope honestly.
Optional. A number, if you have one.

Who you need

Tell us about the people, not just the work. If they come from more than one place, describe each group on its own, a team in Manila and a specialist in Berlin are different questions, and averaging them helps nobody.

Group 1
What does this group need?
Add as many as work for you, a country, a region, or several.
However you say it, “US Eastern”, “UTC+8”, “our Berlin hours”.

What this means for the rate

These places sit at different cost levels, so we will price them as separate ranges rather than one figure.

A rough number is fine.
For this group only, other groups can differ.
If the work is recorded or timed.
Per hour, per person, for this group. Optional, and it never counts against a brief.
Not sure what to put? Where these rates come from

We do not publish a number here, because the honest answer depends on the country, the skill and the week. These are the sources we read.

Rate data

Surveys and official statistics, the sort of thing worth pricing against.

  • Freelancer Income Report , Payoneer

Hourly rates across many countries, from a large survey of people who are actually paid through the platform. The broadest cross-country picture we know of.

  • State of Global Hiring Report , Deel

Country pay data drawn from real contracts rather than asking people what they charge. Skewed towards remote-first employers.

  • Upwork Research Institute , Upwork

Rate and demand trends for freelance work. US-weighted, useful for direction, less so for a rate in Nairobi.

  • Wage and labour statistics , ILO and the World Bank

The floor under everything else: official wage data by country. The same source family behind the economy bands we price with.

Direction of travel

Useful reading, written by people with a stake in the answer.

  • European freelance rate barometers , Malt and freelancermap

Self-reported rates from two European freelance platforms. Good for movement over time; not a sample anyone should price a contract from.

  • State of AI / annual data-work reports , Appen and similar

The closest thing to industry commentary on AI data work specifically. Written by vendors, so read the incentives along with the charts.

Anything else

The quality bar, edge cases, anything a previous vendor got wrong.
Optional. A link to a small sample, Google Drive, Dropbox, anything: helps us scope honestly. Please no confidential or personal data at this stage; a redacted or synthetic sample is fine.

Payment terms

If we quote this brief and you take it forward, this is how invoicing works.

Our standard invoicing: an advance on confirmation, the balance on delivery, due within 30 days. We can't quote against terms longer or more deferred than that (for example, net-60 or net-90 with no advance).
