Surveys and official statistics, the sort of thing worth pricing against.

    Hourly rates across many countries, from a large survey of people who are actually paid through the platform. The broadest cross-country picture we know of.

  • State of Global Hiring Report , Deel

    Country pay data drawn from real contracts rather than asking people what they charge. Skewed towards remote-first employers.

  • Upwork Research Institute , Upwork

    Rate and demand trends for freelance work. US-weighted, useful for direction, less so for a rate in Nairobi.

  • Wage and labour statistics , ILO and the World Bank

    The floor under everything else: official wage data by country. The same source family behind the economy bands we price with.

    Self-reported rates from two European freelance platforms. Good for movement over time; not a sample anyone should price a contract from.

  • State of AI / annual data-work reports , Appen and similar

    The closest thing to industry commentary on AI data work specifically. Written by vendors, so read the incentives along with the charts.

The quality bar, edge cases, anything a previous vendor got wrong.

Payment terms

If we quote this brief and you take it forward, this is how invoicing works.

Our standard invoicing: an advance on confirmation, the balance on delivery, due within 30 days. We can't quote against terms longer or more deferred than that (for example, net-60 or net-90 with no advance).
